Brian Brancato updated March 2024
Head Coach Coach Brancato is entering his 15th season as the head coach of the Irish. In 2024 he guided Sheldon to a 4th place finish in the SWC, and a 14th consecutive trip to the state playoffs. Over the past 14 years he has compiled an overall record of 262 wins and 108 losses and has been awarded conference coach of the year 5 times. The Irish have reached the 6A state championship final site (elite 8) six of the past nine seasons, reaching the semifinals in 2015 and 2019, and the 6A Finals in 2021. Over the last 14 seasons he has assisted 22 players in moving on to college basketball scholarships at the Division 1, Div. 2, Div. 3, NAIA, and Junior College level. Coach Brancato graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005 and received his Masters Degree in Education in 2006. He has taught Social Studies at Sheldon for the past 18 years. |

Coach Myers is in his 18th year in the Irish program. He serves as the Director of Operations. He is responsible for daily assistance to the program and oversees fundraising, travel, and organizational items. Coach Myers also serves as the liaison for the Sheldon youth program.

The OSAA sponsored the first Girls Basketball State Championship tournament in 1976. Records of girls varsity basketball at Sheldon were kept beginning that year. Over that time, the Irish have won 68% of the their games compiling a record of 806 wins and 385 losses.
